Jessica Nyquist works with Dr. J. Alex Sielatycki on the SOSI spine team, where she brings compassion and personalized attention to her patients. “I treat them as I would a family member while providing evidence-based and outcome-driven treatments,” she says. “Knowing who will benefit from surgery and when a conservative course of care is the better option, is the key to good spine care.”

Jessica Nyquist grew up in Laramie, WY and attended the University of Wyoming, earning a Bachelor’s degree in nutrition. She continued her studies and graduated from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus with her Master’s of Science in Physician Assistant studies. She has been practicing in sports medicine orthopaedic surgery since 2014, and now specializes in spine care. Jessica is experienced in the operating room, assisting in surgeries and also managing patients in the clinic. She works closely with orthopaedic spine surgeon Dr. Alex Sielatycki, who specializes in motion preservation surgery.

Jessica sees patients for initial evaluations and develops a treatment plan through a complete workup. This includes ordering imaging, non-surgical interventions, managing patients alongside spine surgeon Dr. Sielatycki if surgery is indicated, assisting in surgery and following patients postoperatively. The spine is complex, and she believes in a thoughtful, team-centered approach. “The majority of patients will get better without surgery, and it is my job to help patients navigate their best treatment options.”

Jessica is happy to live close to home, and to have the ability to care for like-minded individuals living in the Mountain States. She is pleased to be able to offer care locally in Steamboat Springs, Craig, and Fraser, CO, as well as Laramie, WY where she grew up. Jessica also enjoys recreating with her husband; they both enjoy mountain biking, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, and playing in the mountains with friends.
