Tyson Sloan, D.O.

Board-Certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Dr. Tyson Sloan is a board-certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) physician, also known as Physiatrist, with expertise in non-operative spine care. He specializes in spine imaging interpretation, clinical examination skills, interventional spine procedures (spinal injections), organizing and facilitating active rehabilitation, and electrodiagnostic studies (EMG, nerve conduction).

Dr. Sloan was drawn to PM&R because he hopes to provide conservative treatments for his patients to alleviate their pain and symptoms prior to considering surgery. His goal is to spend the time necessary to help patients fully understand their diagnosis and treatment options, and to help manage their symptoms. Dr. Sloan aspires to provide non-operative spine care for patients who do not require surgery and to refer patients for spine surgery when necessary.

Dr. Sloan is new to the Steamboat Orthopaedic & Spine Institute (SOSI); starting in Jan 2023. He came to SOSI after practicing for 6 years at Mountain View Orthopaedics in New Mexico. Dr. Sloan completed medical school at Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Cumberland Gap, TN. He completed an internship at Ohio University CORE program at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky, OH, and a residency at Baylor Institute of Rehabilitation in Dallas, TX.
