Jessica Nyquist works with Dr. Clint Devin on the SOSI spine team, where she brings compassion and personalized attention to her patients. “I treat them as I would a family member while providing evidence-based and outcome-driven treatments,” she says. “Knowing who will benefit from surgery and when a conservative course of care is the better option, is the key to good spine care.” In addition to expertise in spine issues, Jessica has also worked in sports medicine, and the overlap between the two allows her to provide comprehensive care to her patients.

A Wyoming native, Jessica pursued a career in medicine to have a positive impact by helping people recover from injuries—both acute and chronic wear and tear—and return to their active lives. As a PA, she sees herself as a “physician extender,” someone equally capable of diagnosing and treating patients and who also helps doctors treat more patients than they could alone. She believes the job of a PA is to care for their patients from first getting them in the door, to seeing them through to their full recovery. Jessica and her husband moved to Steamboat in 2014.

When she’s not working, she is a passionate and competitive mountain biker, who “enjoys racing anything from long-distance cross country to downhill.” She forges friendships and builds community through her time outside, and also enjoys snowboarding, backcountry skiing, and yoga.
